I’m John Pumphrey, DSocSci - a senior military leader, action researcher and lifelong learner.

Drawing from real-world experiences, this space is primarily a [blog] fuelled by caffeine and curiosity that blends personal reflection and scholarly insights. As a reflective leader, I aim to continue my journey from the completion of my doctorate and explore a wide range of topics, from leadership and decision-making to action research and statistics. Initially, I will focus on areas that I’ve written about in my own [doctoral dissertation] published in 2025, but I’m certain that both my thinking and interests will evolve.
